On 3 December 1940, Albert Camus married Francine Faure at the town hall next door. The wedding was celebrated right here, in the café. The plaque is still there on the façade, with these words by the writer:
« Je ne connais qu'un devoir, c'est celui d'aimer. »“I know only one duty, and that is to love.”Albert Camus, on the plaque on the façade
